About the Class

Contemporary Dance is a form of dance that combines elements of modern, jazz, and ballet.

It encourages dancers to explore their own unique movement, creating a highly individual style along with a unique connection to the music.

Contemporary dancers use improvisation, floor work, and contact improvisation to explore motion and emotion, while simultaneously creating a powerful visual image.

Contemporary dance can also be used to express a story or idea, often in a highly theatrical way. With its combination of strength and grace, contemporary dance is one of the most exciting and visually stunning of all dance styles.

For drop-in students and students with elective choices.

Class duration: 1 hour.
