Began dancing at the age of thirteen. Told this was a ridiculously late age to start, she did not allow herself the luxury of dreaming of a career in the art. Even so, she dove into her training, pointed feet first. She took classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and later, modern, ballroom, and African-Caribbean dance. She was offered her first teaching position after only five years of dancing, and fell in love with working with young children. She earned her Bachelor's degree in dance from CSU Sacramento. Throughout her training, she attended various dance competitions and conventions, and in 2001, was asked to be a founding member of COterie DAnce (CODA) company, under the direction of Kimberly Valmore. She danced with the company, often earning soloist roles, until her family relocated to San Antonio. During her continued training, college years, and time with CODA, Malvina taught classes at various studios throughout Northern California. After the move, Malvina took several years off to focus on her children, but has recently returned to teaching.

Hi My name is Allysa.
I grew up in a Gym were my mom taught gymnastics, dance and cheerleading, which gave me the opportunity to learn so many wonderful aspects of that world. I of course followed in my mothers foot steps by coaching Teams and Classes for 20yrs now.
I had the opportunity to work with all ages from mommy and me’s through Adults. I recently took a break during Covid to spend time with my family. But I missed getting to share my love for Gymnastics / Acro. I can’t wait to start coaching here and getting to meet all the wonderful new people.
